Zur Rose Group, headquartered in Frauenfeld, is an active Swiss-based group operating primarily in Europe online pharmacy and pharma wholesaling. Zur Rose Group is the self proclaimed largest e-commerce pharmacy in Europe, operating in Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and France.[2] Its services are offered under different brands in different countries, DocMorris being the most well known one. The Zur Rose Group shares are listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange.

History

The company was founded in 1993 by its current CEO Walter Oberhänsli. The company name is derived form an actual pharmacy called Zur Rose (German for to the rose) in the village of Steckborn. A large number of competitors in pharma logistics and online commerce were acquired over the years, including Ogera AG (2001), Helvepharm AG (2006), DocMorris (2012), Eurapon Pharmahandel GmbH (2017), Promofarma (2018), apo-rot (2018) and medpex (2019). The group also acquired two software companies; BlueCare AG (2015) and TeleClinic (2020), a telemedicine provider.[3]

Zur Rose Group IPOed on the SIX Swiss Exchange on July 6th 2017.[3]

Since 2017 Zur Rose Group operates in Switzerland a small number of physical shop-in-shop stores in collaboration with Switzerland's largest retailer Migros.[4]
