Nadia binte Ahmad Samdin (born 1990)[1] is a Singaporean politician, consultant and former lawyer. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), she is a Member of the 14th Parliament and has been representing the Cheng San-Seletar ward of Ang Mo Kio Group Representation Constituency (GRC) since 2020.
Education
Nadia was educated at CHIJ Katong Convent and Victoria Junior College[2] before she went on to complete a Bachelor of Laws at Singapore Management University's School of Law.
Career
Nadia was formerly a current affairs producer for CNA.[3] She was subsequently an associate director at TSMP Law Corporation, in the firm's corporate transactional team.[4] In 2020, she left the firm to join Tri Sector Associates, a social impact consultancy.[5]
Political career
Nadia was fielded in the 2020 general election to contest in Ang Mo Kio GRC on the People's Action Party's (PAP) ticket against the Reform Party.[6] Her running mates were Lee Hsien Loong, Darryl David, Gan Thiam Poh and Ng Ling Ling.[6] On 11 July 2020, Nadia and the PAP team were declared elected Members of Parliament representing Ang Mo Kio GRC in the 14th Parliament after garnering 71.91% of the valid votes.[7]
Community service
Nadia was formerly a district councillor in the South East Community Development Council[8] and a panel advisor in the Youth Courts.[9][10] She is on the board of the People's Association and the Public Transport Council.[11]
