Thuramukham (transl. Harbour) is an upcoming 2021 Indian Malayalam-language action period drama film directed and shot by Rajeev Ravi. The screenplay of the film written by Gopan Chidambaran is based on a play of the same name written by his father K. N. Chidambaran.[1][2][3]. It stars Nivin Pauly, Biju Menon, Indrajith Sukumaran, Poornima Indrajith, Arjun Ashokan, Nimisha Sajayan, Sudev Nair, Manikandan R. Achari, Darshana Rajendran, and Anjitha Thomas in the lead roles.

Premise

The story is set in the backdrop of workers' struggle against the infamous ‘Chappa’ system of casual labour allocation that was practised in the harbour town of Mattanchery during the 1940s and 50s. Metal tokens called Chappa were thrown into the waiting crowds of workers who had to fight for the tickets. Whoever manages to get one would be given work for the day at the wharves or godowns.
