If you check the original reference by Bergman et al, you will see that the formula for the Adiposity Index is incorrect. It should be hip circumference / (Height^1.5 - 18). The -18 refers to the denominator only. Sorry I don't know how to fix this, just letting you know so someone can make this change. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.33.97.43 (talk) 04:26, 29 June 2018 (UTC)

: The previous poster is probably referring to the abstract contained in page. While the profusion of parentheses makes the formula hard to read, if one counts the parentheses carefully one will see that the 18 subtracts the whole index. Reading the full article, this is so that the index will approximate percent body fat in the patient.

: In summary, the formula is correct. --2804:14D:5C51:9DEE:153D:CFA4:3A3:A3D4 (talk) 23:18, 2 December 2019 (UTC)

The Formula Is Wrong

If you check the original reference by Bergman et al, you will see that the formula for the Adiposity Index is incorrect. It should be hip circumference / (Height^1.5 - 18). The -18 refers to the denominator only. Sorry I don't know how to fix this, just letting you know so someone can make this change. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.33.97.43 (talk) 04:26, 29 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
