Welcome to MILHIST
Hello and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you are interested, or you can add it directly to your user page by copying the following: {{WPMILHIST Announcements}}.
- Important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, detailed article and content review, writing contests, and article logistics.
- We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, periods, and conflicts.
- We've developed a set of guidelines that cover article structure and content, template use, categorization, and many other issues of interest.
- If you're looking for something to work on, there are many articles that need attention, as well as a number of review alerts.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask any of the project coordinators or any other experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome, and we are looking forward to seeing you around! Anotherclown (talk) 11:08, 19 July 2017 (UTC)

Instead of edit-warring, might I suggest using the article talk page? --Kansas Bear (talk) 18:20, 5 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Kansas Bear: It wasn't my intention to edit war, I just reverted an IP edit but an editor choosed to pick it as a battleground for a bickering over another article. My fault for being baited into it, I don't pretend to let it happen again. Appah Rao (talk) 20:32, 5 August 2017 (UTC)

Burgundy
why did you move Burgundy to Burgundy (region) and make Burgundy redirect to Duchy of Burgundy? the region is the primary topic for Burgundy, it shouldn't redirect to the duchy LICA98 (talk) 21:24, 14 August 2017 (UTC)

Removal of "Decisive" from battle outcomes.
I have notice that you have removed the word "Decisive" from multiple battle infoboxes. Take care when changing the outcome of a battle, as the term "decisive victory" now has a more malleable meaning (see Decisive victory) and all of the sources relating to the battle in question must be perused. If you believe the outcome is incorrectly listed, I recommend that you start a talk page discussion about the issue. If your beleive the outcome of the battle has been synthesized and contains WP:OR, tag the page. Cheers. SamHolt6 (talk) 19:03, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
- I'm afraid I have had to undo your change to Bladesburg as the status quo is 'decisive victory' previously agreed after discussion. Can I suggest you take this to the talk page to agree a new concensus. regards - Galloglass 20:43, 19 August 2017 (UTC)
- Which discussion? There wasn't nothing on the talk page about it. There is nothing on the article about it either, it just seems like something someone added it a long time ago and forget about it. What should I do then? The other guy suggested an OR tag, but it seems too much over only one adjective. A [citation needed] tag maybe? Appah Rao (talk) 22:23, 19 August 2017 (UTC)

- Yes, a [citation needed] tag would be acceptable. Please try to focus on one area at a time if you disagree with the usage of the term. Even if you don't see any previous discussion, chances are it has been discussed somewhere. It's always better to consult relevant pages to gain consensus, like the military history project, before making changes to mass number of pages. Regards, Alex ShihTalk 01:51, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

Burgundy
Why did you move Burgundy to Burgundy (region)? Have you any idea how unnecessary and disruptive that move is? Please don't make controversial moves without any discussion. Please use a bit of sense! --Hazhk (talk) 17:08, 2 September 2017 (UTC)
- In your opinion. Appah Rao (talk) 17:37, 2 September 2017 (UTC)
- No, it makes no sense to redirect Burgundy to Burgundy (region). Parentheses are only used in article titles when the topic needs to be distinguished. Burgundy is the primary topic.--Hazhk (talk) 18:18, 2 September 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Haitianism
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Haitianism requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.itsabouttimebpp.com/Announcements/pdf/The_Ha%C3%AFtian_Revolution.pdf. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Moving pages
Please stop moving pages. I have just spend a good while cleaning up a large number of unnecessary moves, mostly to pages with unnecessary disambiguation. Please seek consensus before performing potentially controversial or unnecessary moves. Thank you. Primefac (talk) 15:00, 7 September 2017 (UTC)

I hope you're not a sock puppet of Clusternote, because the admins will find out if you are.
Your revert to Wavetable synthesis is not justified and it appears you have contributed nothing constructive with the article in the past. Acting to defend Clusternote is simply acting as a sock puppet and the admins will learn that. 173.48.64.110 (talk) 05:20, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
