The music of Swaziland is composed of both ethnic Swazi music and varieties of folk music as well as modern genres such as rock, pop and hip hop, which has been popular in Swaziland since the 1990s, headed by bands such as Vamoose. The popularity of hip hop in South Africa, which shares a border with Swaziland, has also helped popularize it.

Two major festivals in Swaziland are Incwala and Umhlanga.[1] The former takes place in December while the latter takes place in August. Umhlanga is known for its dance, performed exclusively by women, and its 5-day ceremony, which involves reed-cutting.[1] Traditional instruments used include: the kudu horn, calabash, rattles, makeyana and reed flute.[1]

In 2016 Stella Mwangi hosted Swaziland band "The YMR Experience" Listening Session @Drop Coffee Café, Sweden. "The YMR Experience" are a music collective that make easy listening music, a fusion of Jazz, Soul and Spoken Word.[2]

SWAZI MTN invested E474 000 to the 2017 Swaziland Music Awards which will now be called the ‘MTN SWAMA Awards.’ The communications giant assumed official title sponsorship of the first ever SWAMA Awards at the launch attended by Prime Minister Dr Sibusiso Dlamini.[3]
