NGC 5 (also MCG 6-1-13, UGC 62 and PGC 595) is an elliptical galaxy in the constellation Andromeda. It has a generic "redshift estimated" distance of 212 million light years from Earth. The galaxy was discovered by French astronomer Edouard Stephan using a 80.01 cm (31.5 inch) reflecting telescope at the Marseille Observatory on the 21st October 1881.
