Donald Rosenberg is an American musician, music critic and journalist.

Rosenberg was born in New York City and educated at Mannes College of Music and the Yale School of Music. He is a French Horn player.[1]

Rosenberg wrote for the Akron Beacon Journal from the early 1980s[2] then for Cleveland Plain Dealer from 1992.[1] He was removed from his position as senior music writer for the Plain Dealer in 2008, reportedly for his criticism of the Cleveland Orchestra .[2][3] Rosenberg was released from the Plain Dealer in 2013.[3]

Rosenberg has also written for The Pittsburg Press, and has been president of the Music Critics Association of North America a number of times.[1] As of May 2014 he is a faculty member of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.[1]
