WLFZ is a country music radio station licensed to and serving the Springfield, Illinois Arbitron market. Its purpose is "carrying the on-air branding of "101.9 The Wolf". The Wolf aired on October 2nd, 2013 at 5:00AM CDT. Cool 101.9 (WQQL-FM) was moved to 93.9 FM and the call letters where moved there as well. The new station is called Cool 93.9. The old format, 93.9 Abe FM, was moved to translator 101.1 FM (W266BZ-FM at 250 Watts). Abe FM's main channel broadcasts from 103.7 WDBR-HD2 signal. The Wolf is going head-to-head with long-time Springfield country station 104.5 WFMB.
