The first, a compilation of live images of the band, was preliminary. The second and third - one censored, one not - was the all-action, gun-shooting video. "M+M's"
Song

"M+M's" is a song by American pop punk band Blink-182. It was the first single released from the band's first album Cheshire Cat and later released on their Greatest Hits album.

Song meaning

Tom DeLonge, guitarist for the band, stated: "I think this song is about how much you love this one girl, that you would do anything for her. At the end it questions if she would be yours or not."[2]

Music video

Directed by Darren Doane (who had worked for Pennywise and MxPx prior to this) - who the band had met through a friend - on a budget of just three to four thousand dollars. The group were typically blunt and wanted to "...do a video where there was lots of action and stuff, and wanted to shoot some guns." Subtle - but for an independent band, on an independent label (Cargo), subtlety was bottom of the list of priorities: getting their name known was far more important - and shock and humour were two of the most obvious elements capable of achieving that. Intrigue would be a complimentary third element, and as such, three videos to 'M+M's' were eventually produced.[3]

The first, a compilation of live images of the band, was preliminary. The second and third - one censored, one not - was the all-action, gun-shooting video. This video starts with each band member waking up, and stealing something from their girlfriends. They sneak out, meet up, and hang out at Belmont Park where they goof off. Finally, they head to Soma, San Diego's main concert venue for all ages. They encounter their girlfriends, and a gunfight ensues. After finally getting on stage, they realize their show has been cancelled.

Due to the gunfight, this video did not receive extensive airplay on MTV, but was included on almost every major surfing and skateboarding video release at the time. Mark's sister, Anne, makes a cameo appearance in the uncensored version; in the last scene, depicting the band's realization that there is nobody at the show. She can be seen standing behind Tom in an alien costume.
