This is a template designed for season article pages for rugby league clubs. It has been designed to be usable by clubs in all countries, regardless of the year(s) the article is written about. It is therefore adaptable to however many leagues and cups said club participates in throughout the whole season.

Blank templates

Concise list of fields

  • Below is a table with instructions and notes for use of all the templates fields, but understanding the template is not necessary. A blank template is available below for Super League and NRL teams featuring the fields they would need.
Field name What it does Notes
{{{year}}} Sets the year the infobox is referring to
  • Used in the absence of {{{league_link}}} and {{{cup_link}}} to form a wikilink in the league and cup rows.
  • Also used with season record field.
{{{team_colour}}} Sets background to infobox's title.
  • Use hex code, with a hash: eg. #ffffff.
  • Usually the team's primary colour.
  • Defaults to #dddddd.
{{{font_colour}}} Sets text colour in infobox's title
  • Use hex code, with a hash: eg. #ffffff.
  • Usually the team's secondary colour.
  • Defaults to #000000.
{{{league}}} Defines the league played in
  • Simply state the league, not the specific year, not with any wiki mark-up
  • Example: Super League; NRL
{{{league_link}}} Defines article for infobox to link to for specific league seasons.
  • Only needed for leagues that follow roman numerals.
  • No need for wiki mark-up.
  • Example: Super League XIV; not 1999 NRL season.
  • Defaults to "{{{year}}} {{{league}}} season" in absence of this field.
{{{league_rank}}} Position the team finished in league
  • Position at end of regular rounds, play-offs are dealt with elsewhere in infobox.
  • If {{{league}}} is used, this field is required.
{{{playoff_result}}} Result of the team's play-off campaign.
  • Usually follows format: {Won/Lost} {round},<br />({team}, {score}).
{{{league2}}}
{{{league2_link}}}
{{{league2_rank}}}
{{{playoff_result2}}}
Same purposes as above
  • Derived from above fields, for a second league if needed. Functions exactly the same as their derivatives.
{{{league_champions}}}
{{{league2_champions}}}
Puts a gold bar at the top of the infobox
  • Use if team were champions of the league for that season.
  • Insert text manually into the field, this will appear exactly in the gold bar:
  • Example:
  • league_champions = Super League XIV champions;
  • league_champions = 1999 NRL premiers.
  • {{{league_champions}}} is for use with {{{league}}}, {{{league2_champions}}} with {{{league2}}}
{{{cup}}} Defines the cup played in
  • State the cup's name, without any wiki mark-up
  • Example: Challenge Cup
{{{cup_link}}} Defines article for infobox to link to specific cup year
  • No need if the article to be linked to already follows this format:
  • {{{year}}} {{{cup}}}
  • Otherwise, state the article without any wiki mark-up.
{{{cup_rank}}} Where the team finished in the cup
  • Usually follows format: {Won/Lost} {round},<br />({team}, {score}).
{{{cup2}}}
{{{cup2_link}}}
{{{cup2_rank}}}
Same purposes as above
  • Derived from above fields, for a second cup if needed. Functions exactly the same as their derivatives.
  • "2" can be substituted for any number up to 6.
{{{cup_winners}}} Puts a gold bar at the top of the infobox
  • Use if team were the cup winners for that season
  • Insert text manually into the field, this will appear exactly in the gold bar:
  • Example:
  • cup_winners = 2009 Challenge Cup winners
  • {{{cup2_winners}}} can be used for second cup, "2" substituted for any number up to 6
  • If {{{league_champions}}} is also present, {{{cup_winners}}} will always be below {{{league_champions}}}
{{{points_for}}}
{{{points_against}}}
{{{points_for2}}}
{{{points_against2}}}
All values are added up and presented in one row
  • All values default to zero (0), although absence of all fields will mean the row itself is absent as well.
  • {{{points_for}}} = points scored for team in {{{league}}}
  • {{{points_against}}} = points conceded against team in {{{league}}}
  • {{{points_for2}}} = points scored for team in {{{league2}}}
