WELV-LP (107.9 FM) is a low-power FM radio station broadcasting an adult hits music format.[2] Licensed to Ellenville, New York, USA, the station is currently owned by Ellenville Central School District.[3]

History

The Federal Communications Commission issued a construction permit for the station on October 29, 2003.[4] The station was assigned the WELV-LP call sign on December 13, 2004,[5], began testing in April 2005, and received its license to cover on September 30, 2005.[6] The station's call sign dates back to the early 1960s, when it was originated by Ellenville's commercial station (now WELG).
