Book TV, premiere September 12, 1998, is the collective name for weekend programming about upcoming and established authors broadcast on C-SPAN2. On most weekends, that channel transitions from its usual public-affairs programming on Friday night, and remains as Book TV until the following Monday morning (Usually 8am Eastern Saturday morning to 8am Eastern Monday morning). Some Book TV programs and events are also broadcast during congressional breaks when normal coverage of the United States Senate (C-SPAN2's main mission) is not necessary.
