Location of Khromskaya Bay.

The Khromskaya Bay or Khroma Bay (Russian: Khromskaya Guba) is a bay in the East Siberian Sea west of the Sundrun River region and east of the Yana Bay.

The bay is open to the northeast through a narrow and straight channel and is 130 km in length. Its maximum width is about 30 km and it has a branch or inlet extending northwards midway between its mouth and its most inland shore point. The Omullyakhskaya Bay lies north of Khromskaya Bay and shares the same mouth.

This bay is in an area of wetlands; lakes and marshes dot the whole landscape. The Khroma River flows into this bay from the south.

Owing to is northerly location the Khromskaya Bay is covered with ice most of the year. In the summer the bay is a breeding and moulting area for the Lesser White-fronted Goose.[1]

Mammoths were common in this region during the holocene period.[2]

The Khromskaya Bay and the area surrounding it belong to the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) administrative division of the Russian Federation.
