"there are likely more Hollywood celebrities in other religious traditions."
What does this mean? Proportionally? Needs citation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kauri0.o (talk • contribs) 01:50, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
- Indeed, bearing in mind that Scientologists are numbered in the mid-thousands, whereas Jewish and Christian people --- who were born into their respective faiths number in the many millions in America; as are Atheists --- there would have to be more in non-Scientology faiths.

Changed ambiguous categories for celebrity members
Under the heading "Notable celebrity members" there were two subheadings "Current" and "Former". This has been ambiguous, according to several edits over a period of time. The subheading choice of "current" seemed to mean currently a scientologist and currently alive. "Former" would seem to mean "ex-scientologist", but in practice included ex-scientologists (Jason Beghe, Paul Haggis), dead but was-still-a-scientologist (Kirstie Alley, Isaac Hayes, Chick Corea), as well as dead and ex-scientologists (Lisa Marie Presley).
I changed the subheadings to "Member" and "Former member", added an explanatory lead sentence under "former members", and put the word "(deceased)" after those who are dead (especially important in the "members" section). ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 17:41, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
