Early Life and Education

Rakesh Upadhyay was born in the village of Karaundi, located in Deoria district, Uttar Pradesh, India. He is the son of Late K.P. Upadhyay and Late Bacchi Devi. Upadhyay completed his early education at Saraswati Shishu Mandir and Gyan Prakash Inter College in Bhalluani. He pursued further studies in agriculture science at Seva Samiti Banwari Lal Inter College in Deoria, followed by undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Ancient History from Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University.

Musical Career

Rakesh Upadhyay's musical journey began in his village, where he performed devotional songs, bhajans, and recitations from the Ramcharitmanas.[3] His passion for traditional songs was nurtured by his mother.
