==Identification== |
|||
It fits in the pyrops pyrorhynchus group because it has blue hindwings, with a serrate edge, and because of the robust and mostly straight cephalic process. Most similar to Pyrops pyrorhynchus due to 4-6 spots present at 2/3rds of the forewing in a line (VS Pyrops intricatus with no such arrangement of spots), which have outlines, (versus Pyrops pythicus with non bordered spots). It differs from Pyrops pyrorhynchus by the orange or yellow tipped cephalic process, the absence of any brown (while brown is present in even white forms of pyrorhynchus), and the olive, not brown, interior of the spots on the wing. |
