Pre-season and friendlies

On 8 June, Everton announced their first two pre-season friendlies, against Bolton Wanderers and Stoke City.[29] Five days later, a third friendly was confirmed, against Stade Nyonnais.[30] A fourth and fifth friendly was later confirmed, against Sporting CP and Wigan Athletic.[31] They played a friendly against Monza on 1 August.[32]

  1. ^ Everton were deducted eight points for breaching profitability and sustainability rules. They were originally deducted 10 points but this was reduced to six after an appeal. The club were then deducted an additional two points for further PSR breaches.[33][34][35]
  2. ^ Nottingham Forest were deducted four points for breaching profitability and sustainability rules. The club appealed the decision but were unsuccessful.[36][37][38]
