Anthology is an education technology company that has the tagline "an infinite world of learning without boundaries"^[1]. This US-based, private equity-owned company is contracted with the University of the Free State^[2] and Pretoria University^[3]. Their global footprint was established, when three independent services, Campus Management^[11] and Campus Labs^[12] and iModules^[13] were merged (or re-bundled^[14]) into one single company (Anthology) to offer a "technology portfolio that comprises of 14 cloud-based solutions".^[15] Essentially Anthology Reach is a merger of student information systems (SIS) with the Blackboard LMS, acquired by the company in September 2021. This combination of these proprietary solutions, allows a university to seamlessly support the student lifecycle and harness student data. The Anthology bundle offers a much broader range of software and services than any of its competitors ^[16]Thus creating vendor lock in with a comprehensive, globally scaled education technology ecosystem, which offers insights and improves outcomes. ^[17]

Anthology believes in prescriptive and descriptive data-driven education.
