: In general, no. Because rollback (true rollback, this doesn't apply as much to some of the Twinkle flavors) marks its edits as minor and doesn't give a descriptive edit summary, it's very harsh for any sort of usage outside of vandalism. There are a few other cases -- rolling back your own edits is generally okay (you're not going to complain!), and it does get used in undoing Very Big Messes sometimes, but mostly it comes down to reverting vandalism. This is all laid out more fully at [[Wikipedia:Rollback#When_to_use_rollback]]. Drop me a note if you have more questions. Hi TamravidhirInstead of a long list of articles, tell me 1-2 articles to look into. I will take a look. Tourism in West Bengal was a quick-fail for FA, and may not even make a WP:GA cut. --Redtigerxyz Talk 05:05, 5 August 2012 (UTC)

Asking questionsHi. :) I see you asked multiple people (including me) the same question ([1], [2], [3], [4]). This is generally not a good idea, since that means you will have multiple people potentially researching the answer for you and, if somebody else has already answered you, spending time on unproductively on redundant labor. Why not ask your question at a forum like Wikipedia:Help, where multiple people (who probably know the answer) will see it? Alternatively, unless it's legitimately urgent, it may be better to ask one person if they know and, if they don't, then ask somebody else. If it's urgent and you do feel you need to ask multiple people at the same time, please let them know that you're asking other people as well and when the question is no longer necessary as a courtesy to them. Thanks. I'm glad to see that you have an answer to the question you asked me. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:47, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

Articles for the GA statusDear Vidhir, I would like to nominate the following two articles for WP:GA status, but before that they would require some additions and improvements. Abhay Sopori is an article created by my recently, and the other is R.N. Kao, the spymaster. Would really appreciate it if you could help me out with a free picture of Abhay sopori. I am also trying to get one from my sources but that could take time. Tito has provided some resourced to search for free images, but I haven't succeeded in finding one of Abhay yet. Lets start with Sopori first. -Ambar (talk) 17:20, 13 August 2012 (UTC) Hi Tamravidhir, I have removed the reference you recently added to the Red Fort article. Websites like roseindia.net, whereinindia.net, rrindia.com, burrp.com etc. fall in the category of Self-published sources. These cannot be considered to be reliable fact checking sources. You can however use government websites, websites of government agencies like the Archaeological Survey of India etc. as references. Otherwise, your contributions to the article were extremely helpful. Keep them coming. Correct Knowledge«৳alk» 16:04, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

I guess you have been satisfactorily answered. Please suggest anything." I don't know if this is something that you could do, but I've had the Kalampattu article in my watchlist for some time, after trying to clean it up and add a reference in 2010. I've noticed that subsequent edits to the article have introduced new problems (unreferenced material, spelling, capitalisation, punctuation, grammar, etc). My problem is that this topic is totally outside my field (I'm English, living in UK, and have no knowledge of Indian culture and languages, so can only search for references on English medium sites). The article could do with some serious background research, good quality references, then proper structuring, rewriting in correct grammatical English, and a balanced view of the subject. Is this something you'd like to tackle? Best regards — Hebrides (talk) 09:59, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
That makes sense. India is vast and has such rich and diverse cultures. I hadn't realised you were in the north. It is really heartwarming to meet someone so enthusiastic about Wikipedia. I don't know what Wikipedia activities you find most satisfying, but I can share with you some of the things I enjoy doing. I think my greatest satisfaction comes from creating new articles – this can be very time consuming, but feels very worthwhile. Sometimes I find a red link in an article, and it prompts me to create a page for it to link to. Sometimes I search Wikipedia for something, and find there is no article. Occasionally I create an article from the list on Wikipedia:Most wanted articles. Or I may find a page on a foreign Wikipedia that doesn't have an equivalent page on English Wikipedia – I can then start from a translation of that page to build an English article. When creating an article, I first gather all my sources – Google, including Google books and the Google news archive, and then other internet sources as appropriate to my subject (lots of national newspapers have an online archive, for example). I then work out an appropriate structure for the article, and then write each section, including my sources as references using <ref> (I find the "cite" templates very useful), but being careful not to use the same words as in the sources (i.e. avoiding copyright violation). Then the next stages are linking words and phrases to other pages, adding categories, and if appropriate adding an infobox, defaultsort statement, persondata for biographies, images, maps for places, interwiki links if there are any, and possibly a See also and/or External links section. (that's my basic "checklist", anyway) Personally, I do all this in Notepad, and I don't publish anything on Wikipedia until I think it is complete and finished and I'm happy with it. This avoids somebody deleting it in its early stages! Every so often, I copy from Notepad and paste into a new page on Wikipedia, then use the "Show preview" button to see how it looks and check for errors, but I don't click "Save page". Then when it is finished, I paste it into a new page, preview carefully, then save the page. I then immediately search Wikipedia for pages that I can link to my new article, and insert wikilinks – this will avoid somebody putting an "Orphan" tag onto the top of your page. Finally, if there are alternative names or spellings for your pagename, create redirect pages. I don't create enormous articles – usually they are about a screenful, and usually have at least five good references if I can find them (and often a lot more). I can tell if an article is reasonably complete if nobody seriously edits or adds anything much to it. Forgive me if you know all this – I notice you have created a number of pages already. Apart from creating new articles, another activity I find rewarding is using AutoWikiBrowser, which enables you to do a wide range of routine tidying edits by suggesting the edits and then allowing you to simply click the Save button to accept them. If you opt for RegexTypoFix it also checks 3476 spelling mistake patterns and corrects those too. I tend to load in links to all new pages, then run through them, tidying those that need it. Hope that my ramblings may give you some ideas... Keep up the good work! Best wishes — Hebrides (talk) 14:18, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
