- The 2025 Winter World University Games will take place in Turin, Italy.
- Comet C/2024 G3, if it survives perihelion, could brighten to magnitude -2.0 or higher and reach naked-eye visibility.^[2]
January 14 – February 2 – The 2025 World Men's Handball Championship will take place in Croatia, Denmark and Norway.^[3]^[4]
