Don't merge - many examples of protein electrophoresis on samples other than serum
[edit]Serum epho is just one example of technique. Lots of labs separate proteins from non-serum sources. The way the article is written now does not reflect that fact, however. Will try to get back and do some editing. Johnfravolda (talk) 19:10, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
== Agree - Needs urine electrophoresis and needs to be more general. Hope to collaborate with you in expanding the scope so it's not so narrow.
=== Agree completely - Write a general introduction to protein electrophoresis with reference to electrophoresis and with Serum protein electrophoresis as one example. May take a small part in this project. Drlectin (talk) 12:42, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
The Protein electrophoresis isn't the so called Proteinogram?
[edit]Here for example: http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proteinogram
Maybe a redirection page should be ok. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bubbletruble (talk • contribs) 09:02, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
- Google translation of the Polish Wikipedia page on proteinogram yields:
- "Proteinogram - diagnostic test consisting in the electrophoretic separation of serum proteins into fractions and quantitative and percentage determination of their :composition. To assess the proteinogram, it is necessary to examine the total serum protein concentration. ..."
- Thus, it means: Serum protein electrophoresis, which is a very specific type of gel electrophoresis of proteins and has its own English Wikipedia article. Somebody
- with the time for and knowledge of changing the wrong language link of the Polish "Proteinogram" article to the English "Serum protein electrophoresis" should do that.
How to Set Up Power Supply for SDS Page?
[edit]I understand that majority of proteins consist a negative charge, therefore it must migrate towards the positive. However, how do I set up the power supply to ensure they are traveling downward? Could you provide visual image?
- Thank you for making the information in this article concise.--Inuriwiki (talk) 01:45, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
