Wikinews:Admin action alerts
Alerts | Requests |
Requesting a block? Wikinews:Blocking policy states that administrators may block users who "excessively and consistently break site policy. Admins should only do this as a last resort - efforts to educate must be made first, followed by warnings." Admins can not and will not block unless this policy is followed. Please do not raise an alert here unless efforts to educate the user have been made, and warnings have been given. If you have an ongoing problem with another user, you should consider Wikinews:Dispute resolution. |

- @EPIC, (hopefully pings work inter-wikily) can we get a local, long-term, anon-only block on the single IP 152.22.74.24? The vandalism continues after each block expiration and seems to be escalating in volume. I think the local project can tolerate a long-term block easier than what can be implemented globally. The IP belongs to a university and the vandalism from it goes back years. Thanks in advance! —Michael.C.Wright (Talk/Published) 19:18, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- I didn't see your ping until now - and nope, unfortunately you will have to ping me locally (which is of course fine too). I placed a block on the /23 for three months, it is a somewhat lengthy block meaning local admins can of course feel free to modify or remove the block if they wish (although I hope it will not be a big issue as there has been solely vandalism from that range).
- Speaking of which, this wiki should really try finding a new administrator, most admin actions here since July have been performed by us and an active local admin here would be useful (because of course - we are not local administrators and cannot be the ones to do everything here - especially considering that our remit here is mainly supposed to be anti-vandalism/anti-spam). - Thank you bigly! —Michael.C.Wright (Talk/Published) 18:59, 28 August 2024 (UTC)

I've subscribed to this page, so I will get notifications when a new topic is started here. Is there a way for me to view the list of subscribers, or to subscribe a user? Thanks EPIC , Michael.C.Wright for your help. --Gryllida (talk) 12:00, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
Women's March becomes largest single day protest in Modern U.S. history
[edit]2017 Women's March's infobox links to Women's March becomes largest single day protest in Modern U.S. history, but that article says "If you followed a link here from an external site, please inform us"). Rootsmusic (talk) 17:55, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Rootsmusic, could you please take a screenshot? I don't see that link in the infobox. You can probably upload it to Wikimedia Commons. --Gryllida (talk) 18:54, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
- The original article was moved (renamed) and no redirect currently exists. Here is the original article: Women's March becomes largest protest in U.S. history. —Michael.C.Wright (Talk/Published) 18:57, 28 August 2024 (UTC)

- Seems inactive. Were inactive accounts blocked for bad usernames previously? --Gryllida (talk) 12:02, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
