Etymology

From Middle French jouir, jouïr, iouyr, from Old French joïr, from Vulgar Latin *gaudīre (*gaudiō), from Latin gaudēre, present active infinitive of gaudeō. Lua error in Module:parameters at line 376: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "gaudir" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E., which was a borrowing.
