Hello, I'm MrOllie. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Thank you for caring about Wikipedia and wanting to make it the best possible encyclopedia! Thank you also for the link to the guidelines. It is rather discouraging to try contributing to a page only to have it instantly removed so I appreciate your positive input here.
I am assuming the problem was with these two guidelines?
3. Links in the "External links" section should be kept to a minimum.
4. In the "External links" section, try to avoid separate links to multiple pages in the same website.
Perhaps it would be better to add a single link? Mussar Student (talk) 23:51, 12 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 00:14, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

This is frustrating. I re-alphabetized a list that contained one misplaced entry and that was undone? Why wasn't that part left at least? I also added one external link to an organization that, very similar to the other organizations listed there such as the Mussar Institute and the CCM, is a "Contemporary effort to revive the Musar movement", and that was removed? How is this not an arbitrary and inconsistent action unless those other links are removed too? I am wondering if this is really worth your time and effort, not to mention mine, so I am wondering why the addition of this one link that is no different than the other links in that section needs to be made a talking point or issue requiring more time and energy on the part of multiple parties.
I do appreciate your reaching out and thank you for that and for the part you play in making Wikipedia a wonderful and reliable resource. Mussar Student (talk) 20:21, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. I don't necessarily endorse any other links. But if other links violate the guidelines as well, that is not a reason to add another improper link. MrOllie (talk) 22:06, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
