Pending changes reviewer

Vandalism is quite prevalent on Zimbabwe related articles, so I think this permission is useful for me to fight vandalism and edits that aren’t constructive. Thank you for your consideration. Mindthem (talk) 03:32, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Mindthem I haven't evaluated your request yet but it doesn't give me any sense that you've read and understood what pending changes is. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:04, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I routinely edit. I have an account and I have a reasonable editing history – as a guide, enough edits that a track record can be established. I have read the policy on vandalism and understand what is vandalism and what is not. I have read the guideline on reviewing. I strongly agree I am familiar with the basic content policies: Biographies of living persons, Neutral point of view, No original research, Verifiability and What Wikipedia is not. This is why I should be granted reviewer rights. MrFlyingPies23 (Talk?) | (Contrib) 22:42, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have been doing constructive activities in Wikipedia for more than a couple of years regularly. I have read Wikipedia:Reviewing pending changes#Becoming a reviewer and I believe that I am eligible for this right to help other wikipedians. Haoreima (talk) 07:32, 12 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to help in reviewing, I have experience in RC patrolling and can discern what edits should be accepted. Cjse23 (talk) 17:06, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have been editing for quite a while, especially in the area of fishing and regional contents (southeast Asia, China and Russia), so I am very familiar with dealing with such tricky contents involving biographies, those containing long uncited original research and controversial copyrights. I have also read what is vandalism and other basic content policies and guidelines for reviewing and I am willing to help with reviewing pending changes so as to make the community better. HolyCrocsEmperor (talk) 02:34, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I routinely edit about 50 times a day, I have experience in Recent changes patrolling and know which edits should be reverted. I have read the policies and guidelines for pending changes reviewing. The pending changes reviewer tool will be constructive to my contributions to Wikipedia. Alexeyevitch(talk) 04:20, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I periodically check the pending changes and see that some edits are straightforward attempted vandalism, few should be rightly accepted, and others need modification to the wording or reference before publishing, but I obviously couldn't act by default. I always refer to reliable sources and do my own fact-checking. I know that this feature could be easily revoked and edits I approve could be reverted by admins, so I'm not intending to misuse it; I would just like to be able to help in that. Thank you. I have a good track record of vandalism reversion, and I understand what are acceptable and unacceptable edits are as per policy. -REDACTED403 (talk) 14:09, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I edit consistently, understanding what is vandalism and what isn't. I have applied before, I didn't have enough edits then, but I have about 200 or so now. I often recent changes patrol, giving me experience with stopping vandalism. I have read through all the policies mentioned, and I feel I can be trusted with this right. Oh my goodness, could someone just list every single little requirement here? It's otherwise not very clear to me. I asked on the talk page and they said there aren't many requirements. I'm just getting totally confused now. Please change the page if I'm not meeting some requirements. It's very confusing. ThatOneWolf (talk|contribs) 21:07, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
from wikipedia:Reviewing pending changes#Criteria to receive this permission (which you should have read already):
  1. You have a reasonable editing history – as a guide, enough edits that a track record can be established.
  2. You have read our policy on vandalism and understand what is vandalism and what is not.
  3. You are familiar with the basic content policies: Biographies of living persons, Neutral point of view, No original research, Verifiability and What Wikipedia is not.
  4. You are familiar with the basic legal policy: Wikipedia:Copyrights.
  5. You have read the guideline on reviewing.

@Philipnelson99: Nothing says how long your account has to exist (just that you need to have a good number of mainspace edits, which I do), and also, nothing says that if a request was declined, you can't ask again for 90 days even if you've made a good number of edits since the last one. Those are the only things MusikBot said were wrong with this, and they aren't mentioned anywhere. Please, if these are requirements, change the page to say this. ThatOneWolf (talk|contribs) 21:18, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
well for one, 96% of your edits are not in the biography of living persons category... But an admin will determine your fitness for this permission shortly. Definitely the reviewing admin what you need to do if you get declined again, but please make sure you thoroughly read the requirements and understand them. Philipnelson99 (talk) 21:32, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also MusikBot is just a bot that comments on your account age and past requests, it's not intended to give you guidance. Philipnelson99 (talk) 21:33, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have been editing Wikipedia for 5 years and my knowledge of the MOS, notability, sourcing and other policies has also expanded hugely over the past year, with myself having made my first 4 articles. There have been many instances where I have requested page protection for pages due to constant vandalism. Additionally, when users have edit warred, I have started discussions on the relevant articles to sort it out and prevent further edit wars. I routinely edit and I check the pages that I watch, and thus often quickly find and revert vandalism. I also have requested for revisions to be hidden from public view when offensive material has been published, such as at the Mpox related articles in 2022. One of the main places where I would use this permission is List of Coronation Street characters, which has pending changes due to unsourced content being repeatedly added - for the past few years, various IPs have added the same unsourced vandalism continuously. I am also used to copyright violations, as I have witnessed not only editors (mainly IPs) copy and pasting paragraphs from other websites, but also editors stealing other people's contributions/work without attribution, and thus I would look out for that. Please let me know if you have any questions or need evidence DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 01:38, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please remove my PCR right. I don’t need it and haven’t used it in a while, and I won’t be needing it really anytime soon. Thanks, Seawolf35 T--C 16:32, 24 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've begun recent changes patrolling since I last requested this right, and have a greater track reviewing new edits. I am currently an AFC reviewer, for whatever that's worth Mach61 (talk) 04:42, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
