On May 26, the 100 British troops under the command of Waldo turned the canons of the Royal Battery on the Island Battery and bombarded the Battery for days.
 
On May 30, the Mi'kmaq at Chapeaurouge Bay attacked 13 English soldiers from Captain Fletcher's crew on the Boston Packet, who were seeking wood and water.<ref>[https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=txu.059173017850230;view=1up;seq=97 p. 81]</ref> They killed seven English soldiers, three of whom were scalped.
