After slaying the mutated S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents and sealing off the cave, the Thunderbolts return to the Raft for a check-up. The checkup reveals that Crossbones hasn't been mutated by the Terrigen Mist and that MACH-V will be out for weeks. Luke Cage is told by Fixer that Henry Pym and the students from the [[Avengers Academy]] are here. After getting Thunderbolts introduced to the students, the prison's power grid suddenly shut down due to an EMP, allowing the Raft's inmates to escape. John Walker amazingly dispatches two escapees who thought him helpless. The Juggernaut tricks one of the Blood Brothers and Grey Gargoyle into attempting to escape only for them to be paralyzed by the large jellyfish. Songbird holds off the female inmates before Gunna came to aid. Luke Cage personally confronts the Purple Man and various other villains under his control. He personally headbutts Purple Man after telling him that his mind control doesn't work on him because of the nanites in his brain. The Raft is soon secured and all escapes foiled. Some of Pym's students attempted to get to Norman Osborn, so Luke Cage reprimands them.<ref>Thunderbolts #147</ref>
During the ''[[Shadowland (comics)|Shadowland]]'' storyline, the Thunderbolts had to have lunch with the other prisoners while Luke Cage is away dealing with the [[Hand (comics)|Hand]]. Warden Walker is concerned about why Luke Cage isn't here with him and Songbird unaware that he is handling some business in Shadowland. Luke Cage is later visited by Lacy Kimbro who informs him that her son Darris is among the cops that are prisoners of the [[Hand (comics)|Hand]]'s Underhand faction (a group of ninjas who are already dead). Moonstone and Songbird later dine together with Gunna (who is teased by the Raft's female inmates for eating with her hands). When they ask if she's cannibalistic, Gunna says "aye." In the men's part of the cafeteria, Crossbones is teased by the male inmates for causing the "alleged murder of Captain America" until Juggernaut "accidentally" spills his food on one of the inmates. The Thunderbolts are soon summoned for mission to the mainland. They meet with Cage by some railway tracks. He informs them that their mission is to locate Darris and bring down the Hand's stronghold, assigning Fixer to lead the team, while he goes to try and convince Daredevil to stop. As they descend into the tunnels, the Thunderbolts notices how paranoid Ghost is and how he doesn't want to be referred to by his former identity. They are then ambushed by the Hand ninjas. Thunderbolts don't hold back as they fight. A group of Underhand merge together and knock Juggernaut down. Fixer is stabbed while Songbird is taken down, giving Moonstone the opportunity to do things her way.<ref>Thunderbolts #148</ref>
