I wanted to understand where you're coming from removing candidates who failed to qualify for primary ballots under the guise they "failed to file." In terms of the Senate election in Virginia; Hickman, Lowe, and Vitiello [https://www.fec.gov/data/elections/senate/VA/2024// did] file with the Federal Election Commission. They simply failed to gather enough petition signatures to qualify for the primary ballot. In terms of the House elections, removing Johnson in the 5th and Moher (x2) is accurate since neither did file. Moher having failed to file in either of the seats he was supposedly running for. As in the Senate race though you removed Sacks and Tarpley in the 7th who [https://www.fec.gov/data/elections/house/VA/07/2024// also] filed with the FEC. Then the same in the 10th with Beatty, McDade, and Taylor who [https://www.fec.gov/data/elections/house/VA/10/2024// all] filed. I can see a point in removing Tarpley, Beatty, and McDade since none of them filed finance reports with the FEC. With other filed candidates who had no expenditures not being listed previously either. I guess I just don't understand why in particular the three aforementioned Senate candidates including Sacks and Taylor in the House elections were removed. *{{ping|ThisUserIsTaken}} i just use that as a blanket term for people who declared their candidacy and then just went away; they don't appear on the ballot and never publicly withdrew, so they're just in limbo. There's no point listing them, especially because there's no reliable source clarifying whether they dropped out or failed to make the ballot or what. The only source cited for these candidates is the one from when they declared their candidacy, so it's confusing to readers. Also, again, there's just no point listing these candidates.
