English: The Longzhong Plan was the grand strategy proposed by Zhuge Liang for Liu Bei to conquer north China. By summer 219 Liu Bei controlled the provinces of Yi and Jing, the prerequisites for carrying out the plan. Shown in this map is the two-pronged offensive originally envisaged by Zhuge Liang. The right wing of the offensive was led by Guan Yu in autumn 219. After Guan Yu's defeat and the loss of Jing province, the left wing of the offensive was carried out in modified form by Zhuge Liang as the Northern Expeditions between 227 and 234.
