Andreu (Catalan pronunciation: [ənˈdɾew], Catalan pronunciation: [anˈdɾew]) is a common catalan and southern France given name of Ancient Greek origin, which also appears as a surname. The English language equivalent is Andrew. The word Andreu can be derived etymologically to the ancient word Andros that means "The Man" thus the name Andreu meaning the one who is "manly", "strong", "courageous" or a "warrior".
