Dr. Shahid Masood is the Director News & Current Affair of ARY One World part of ARY channels network, a group of private Pakistani TV channels broadcasting from Dubai.
Shahid Masood Khan spent his childhood in Saudi Arabia, completed F.Sc. from DJ Science College in Karachi and subsequently attended Sindh Medical College receiving a Doctorate in Medicine. He started his career as a surgeon but turned his attention towards the healing the political and social wounds of the Muslim world. He also writes for newspapers.
Dr. Shahid Masood is famous in Pakistan for two big reasons. First reason is his television show Views on News which has been running for many years now. It usually picks up hot national and international issues. Second is his documentary The Hidden Truth, in which he talked in detail about the end of days in light of Christian, Jewish and mostly Muslim beliefs. This documentary was initially aired on ARYOneWorld TV channel but was latter made available on CDs and DVD after popular public demand.
Recently Dr. Shahid Masood came under spotlights when he became the first South Asian journalist to cover the event unfolding in Middle East by going to Lebanon and Palestine. He manged to interview the leader of Hamas and some activists in Syria. No other non-Arab journalist has been able to do it in recent days.
Views on News is credited with many interviews of important personalities from politics, civil life, literature, and issues of wide interest. The personalities from the sphere of politics who have been interviewed on Views on News include President General Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, former Prime Ministers Benazir Bhutto and Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, MQM leader Altaf Hussain, PML-N leader Shahbaz Sharif, General (retd) A. A. K. Niazi (of East Pakistan fame), former CIA Director James Woolsey, and other important personalities including former ISI chiefs.
