About Me

Hi there! I'm Burmiester, and welcome to my user page! You don't want to read a long paragraph, I'm sure, because you probably only are even reading this because you accidentally stumbled upon this page while exploring the weird part of Wikipedia. If you actually care to know, here goes. I am a teenager who taught myself to use Wikipedia several years ago. I have created dozens of articles and contributed to countless hundreds others. I consider myself to be a "paparazzi" because I love to add photos to articles from the Wikimedia Commons. I am literally a walking encyclopedia (like a real-life version of Alex P. Keaton from Family Ties), and love to share my information on Wikipedia. I also like to edit Wiki and Yahoo answers as well as Wikia (although it has a very frustrating system). I love to de-stub articles by adding tables, links, sections and categories (I don't know why, but it feels really good!), write, read, cook, clean, and watch movies (espescially action, horror, and comedy). My favorite movie is Clue from 1985, followed by Die Hard and The Shawshank Redemption. I am also interested in the films Falling Down and Man on Fire, which are more of a character study. I also love classical and 80s music and my favorite band is Matchbox 20. My favorite books are Coraline, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Freak the Mighty, Jaws and Jurassic Park. I live in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and I love it here (except for thte hellishly cold winters!). I guess the reason I love editing Wikipedia and Wikia articles is because I like to improve things and make things easier for people's daily lives, so if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me. I suppose that's all you really need or care to know about me, so, bye.

One more thing...

I want to name, in my opinion, what I believe are the most beautiful American coins ever minted for circulation, so here goes. Coins were art back then and all of the coin dies were carved by hand, so they were really art and took a lot of intricate handwork. Nowadays it's all done by lasers, not that that's a bad thing, but it isn't the same type of loving design. They all kind of look the same really. The Roosevelt Dime is the only real coin nowadays that retains traditional style.

  1. Saint-Gaudens double eagle
  2. Peace Dollar
  3. Indian head cent
  4. Mercury Dime
  5. Longacre's nickel Three Cent Piece
  6. Walking Liberty Half Dollar
  7. Trade Dollar
  8. Indian Head eagle
  9. Bela Lyon Pratt gold coinage

If you care to take a look at my library of recorded signifigant contributions, please also gander at this virtual museum of beautiful, pristine mint-state coins that I think are among the most beautiful ever made in world history. Also see the Swiss Francs and British Trade Dollar for more international coinage I appreciate.

An Indian Head Cent from 1859, one of my favorite coins.

A three cent nickel, one of my favorite coins.

A Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle in high relief, one of my favorite coins.

A Trade Dollar, one of my favorite coins.

A Peace Dollar, one of my favorite coins.

A Mercury Dime, one of my favorite coins.

A Walking Liberty Half Dollar, one of my favorite coins.

A wonderful example of the rare British Trade Dollar, one of my favorite coins. Judging by its mint mark, it was presumably minted at the Bombay mint. I would want one, personally, from Calcutta.

Switzerland's liberty and shield coinage.
