Anderson Silva
Some funny guy added a bout between him and Anderson Silva.
The two never fought so far!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.190.79.73 (talk) 22:37, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
Change from Boxing
"When he figured out that he couldn't make it to the top of the boxing world due to lacking boxing expertise, he switched to kickboxing, and then eventually to mixed martial arts.[1]"
This sentence seems a bit misleading. It suggests he perhaps quit boxing because of his own boxing skills. The source states: "When he figured out that he wouldn't make it to the top of the sweet science in a country as small as Holland, he switched to kickboxing and eventually to mixed martial arts. ...But since the Dutch had not been able to produce a single outstanding boxer in the last 100 years while at the same time being the world's premier kickboxing nation, Mousasi switched sports."
Seems like this is saying he changed because of lack of boxing opportunity in a small country, or the unavailability of quality training, when compared with kickboxing.

- Agreed. I changed it to say he simply switched to kickboxing and MMA instead. Feel free to expand to include his reasoning. --aktsu (t / c) 18:56, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
Biography
Mousasi is officially labeled as fighting out of Netherlands both in DREAM, StrikeForce and other companies. He might be ethnic Armenian, but his nationality is Dutch. People should stop changing the flag to Armenia, it is officially Dutch. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.209.133.224 (talk) 17:26, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
I have seen many of his earlier fights where he is not fighting under dutch flag. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.94.188.29 (talk) 20:42, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
He is Armenian, and on his own facebook page as well as Sherdog profile Armenia is listed as his COUNTRY! Either keep both flags or the Armenian one. There is no room for chauvinism here!--74.207.73.189 (talk) 23:04, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
But Armenia is not his country. He is ethnic Armenian, yes. But according to this article he was born in Iran, and moved to the Netherlands. The box in the biography is not for ethnicity, its for nationality, which would be Iranian or Dutch. Harley peters (talk) 19:18, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
He is billed as Dutch and his nationality should be changed to Dutch, but stubborn people keep changing it to Armenian since that is his ethnicity. The funny thing is that he isn't even born in Armenia, he's born in Iran and is a Dutch national. So could someone make it so people stop change his nationality (flag) to Armenian? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.209.133.224 (talk) 00:46, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
I deleted the Armenian from his nationality, as others have said he may be an ethnic Armenian but he's not an Armenian national. It does say in the opening sentence that he's Armenian though so I don't see the big need to specify that in his nationality. I also added the flag icons to the people on his record since they were missing.--P.4.P. No. 1 (talk) 20:32, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
I removed Armenian from his nationality, but don't feel like going to every single possible page and changing the flag to the Dutch flag. Unless someone can provide a source for him having at least lived in Armenia, then there's nothing but blind nationalism going on with people reverting it. Nationality is separate from ethnicity, his ethnicity is given proper attention in the article, and this site is designed to be as accurate and unbiased as possible. Nationality, by definition, is what nation you are from. He is Iranian and Dutch. PEiP (talk) 23:19, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
MMA Record
There has been major vandalism to his MMA records/table of results. I reverted about half of the intended error, but then got bored; would someone else please do the rest :/ Ecclesispastic2489 16:22, 6 August 2009
Yup, this article is extremely false. Here's the real thing, http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/gegard-mousasi-7466 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.12.150.33 (talk) 17:58, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
UFC
Why hasn't he had a UFC fight yet? Does Dana have something against him? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lenosy (talk • contribs) 17:32, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
Lock request
Is it possible to get this article semi protected or something? People keep changing his nationality to Armenian, when that's his ethnicity. His nationality (What nation he either was born in or where he currently lives.) is Dutch or Iranian-Dutch. He has never lived in Armenia to the best of anyone's knowledge. Also people keep taking down the flag icons next to his opponents names.--P.4.P. No. 1 (talk) 18:46, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
Golden Glory?
The article states that Gegard is a member of Golden Glory, however he is not mentioned on their site and I remember him saying in an interview (reacting to the current problems between Alistair Overeem and Golden Glory) that he has nothing to do with Golden Glory. Anyone? --Vunzmstr (talk) 10:25, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
DREAM
Mousasi himself, on his official Twitter page, confirmed that he is still the DREAM light heavyweight champion. See https://twitter.com/mousasi_mma/status/317188583565975552 -- Beast of Bourbon (talk) 08:38, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
- In theory he always will be, because there may never be another. Unless he's going to defend the title, let's not confuse people. --TheShadowCrow (talk) 18:05, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
