Bravo has renewed the series for a second season.[3] and is now filming with four members of the original cast: Lea Black, Marysol Patton, Adriana De Moura Sidi, and Alexia Echevarria. However, a few months before filming began for the second season, Alexia's son was involved in a car accident and so her role was reduced to recurring. There are four new housewives joining the cast, and they include Joanna Krupa, Lisa Hochstein, Karent Sierra and Ana Quincoces, but it's unknown if their contribution will be full or half time. It was also spotted in April 2012 that Miami drag queen Miss Elaine Lancaster will be featured in the show.[4]

The second season will premiere on Thursday, September 13, 2012[5] with 4 new housewives- Ana Quincoces, Joanna Krupa, Karent Sierra, and Lisa Hochstein- and Alexia Echevarria with a recurring role.

Production history

Season 1- On Wednesday, March 10, 2010, Bravo announced the series (then titled Miami Social Club) had been picked up, which was to be a restructuring of the failed 2009 series, Miami Social. Later, after filming was completed on the series, Bravo chose instead to make it a new extension of the Real Housewives.[6] Bravo announced on February 3, 2011 that the series would premiere later that month, they also announced that the fourth season premiere of The Real Housewives of New York City originally scheduled for February 15, would be pushed back until April.

Season 2- The Real Housewives of Miami has been renewed for a second season but not all of the housewives will return. We will see the return of some but not all, yet to be confirmed as to who will officially return for a second season. Adriana De Moura- Sidi confirmed that Larsa Pippen and Cristy Rice are not returning for a second season.[7]

When Bravo officially greenlighted on February 9, 2012 the return of the series for a second season, Alexia Echevarria was not featured in it. Two to five new Housewives will be featured for the second Season. It's still unknown the capacity of their contribution. Season 2 will premiere in September of 2012. [8]

Season 2 of The Real Housewives of Miami is set premiering September, 13 2012 at 10 pm on Bravo. Season 2 gives viewers an inside look into the aspirational lives of seven women as they juggle family, work, and a spicy social scene in the hottest city in the world. Whether shopping on Ocean Drive or out on the town in South Beach, these ladies prove that in Miami the skirts are short and so are the tempers. Returning Housewives Lea Black, Adriana de Moura, and Marysol Patton are joined this season by bombshell Lisa Hochstein, supermodel Joanna Krupa, successful lawyer and chef Ana Quincoces, and celebrity dentist Karent Sierra. Also returning in a recurring role is Alexia Echevarria, who has made her son, Frankie, her number one priority following a bad automobile accident earlier this year.

On July 24, 2012, Bravo announced that the second season of The Real Housewives of Miami will premiere on Thursday, September 13 at 10/9c with 7 Housewives and 1 Recurring Housewife.

Divorced ten years ago, Patton is known for throwing bashes around town and loves to spend time with her mother, Elsa, who considers herself a “seer” (not a psychic), and Elsa’s a hot commodity amongst A-listers looking for spiritual guidance. Marysol has no children; she is married to Philippe Pautesta-Herder.

Adriana De Moura Sidi

Adriana DeMoura is best known as the Brazilian Bombshell of the Miami art scene. Before settling on Miami's exclusive Hibiscus Island, Adriana studied art and culture in Florence and at Paris' Sorbonne Institute. Between discovering new artists and hitting the boutiques on South Beach, Adriana concentrates her time on her 12-year-old son, Alex, who like his mother, is a burgeoning concert pianist. Adriana found love in Frederic, a Paris native who works as a hotel master designer. Together, the three of them are overhauling a 1920s motor yacht with plans to move onboard after construction is complete. Until then, Adriana continues to soak up the sun and scene in Miami.

Lea Black

(Season 1 – present)

"I care about a lot of things; What other's think of me isn't one of them." (Season 1 – present)

Texas native Lea is married to one of the top criminal defense attorneys in the country, Roy Black, and she has a 9 year-old son. Her reputation as a community leader peaked when she raised money for President Barack Obama during his 2008 presidential campaign as well as for many other local Florida politicians. Lea is founder of the Annual Blacks Gala, which she turned into one of Miami’s landmark social events and also an opportunity to raise millions of dollars over the past fifteen years for her Consequences Charity. Lea and her husband, Roy, one of the top criminal defense attorneys in the country, have a 10-year-old son, RJ, together. She is also known amongst the Housewives for her interesting fashions.

(Season 2 – present)

Born in Warsaw, Poland and raised in Chicago, Joanna Krupa is a model and actress who splits her time between Miami and Los Angeles. At 13, she convinced her mother and sister to move with her to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams of modeling and acting. Joanna has appeared on magazine covers including FHM, Shape, and Playboy. In addition, Maxim magazine named her the “Sexiest Swimsuit Model in the World” and listed her as part of their “Hot 100” ranking of the world's hottest women in 2011. This versatile beauty has guest starred on episodes of Las Vegas, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and has been hosting and judging Poland's Next Top Model since 2010. She also competed on Dancing with the Stars in 2009 with three-time champion Derek Hough. A huge supporter of the animal rights group PETA, Joanna has starred in several ads for the group. She has been engaged to Romain Zago, owner of Miami's Mynt night club for five years. Her younger sister Marta and mom Jolanta are very active in her life and live with her while in Miami.

Lisa Hochstein

(Season 2 – present)

A self-proclaimed “professional housewife,” Lisa Hochstein is married to legendary Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Lenny Hochstein, who is known as the "Boob God" of Miami. Married in 2009 at their gorgeous Sunset Island mansion, Lisa and Lenny have been leaving their mark on the Miami social scene ever since. After traveling the world together to exotic locales like Venice, St. Tropez, and Paris, the couple recently purchased a house on Star Island where they plan to move next year with their two dogs, Puffy and Leo. This 29-year-old beauty made three appearances in Playboy magazine and can often be found shopping, lounging, and hanging out with her maid and best friend Daisy.

Karent Sierra

(Season 2 – present)

Born in New York City and raised in South Florida, Dr. Karent Sierra is Miami’s No. 1 celebrity dentist who firmly believes that creating “perfect” smiles can change lives. After attending dental school in Wisconsin, she opened up her own private practice in Coral Gables and now refers to herself as a Miami native through and through. Always one to keep her Colombian heritage alive, Karent moved her retired parents into her mansion and has been dating her telenovela star boyfriend, Rodolfo Jiménez, for the past two-and-a-half years. With a heart of gold and smile to match, the former beauty queen reigned as “Miss Carnival Miami” in 1992 and was a featured model on Latin TV working on various commercials, infomercials, and enjoying stints as a hand model.

Ana Quincoces

(Season 2 – present)

Ana Quincoces is a straight-shooting Cuban dynamo who tells it like it is. She is a successful business woman who is a partner at her law firm, in addition to being a celebrity chef and cookbook author. Voted Miami's "Hottest Chef" by Eater Magazine in 2011, Ana insists her greatest achievements in life are her two daughters, Kati, 20, and Beba, 19. The girls have an undeniably strong, though sometimes unorthodox, relationship with Ana and their father, Robert. Even though Ana and her girls no longer live under the same roof as Robert, they still maintain a strong family bond and continue to share family dinners together several times a week.

Former Housewives

Larsa Pippen

(Season 1)

"My husband's got moves, but I run the game." (Season 1)

Larsa, a former model of Assyrian-Lebanese-American heritage, married NBA superstar Scottie Pippen in 1997. They have four children: three boys and one girl. Larsa is known for taking part in and contributing to many fundraisers. Although she has the unofficial title of "Hottest NBA Wife"[citation needed], Larsa has always stayed out of the public and news, saying that her husband Scottie is the star of the family and that she'd rather be a star mom and wife. When she’s not busy turning her three little boys into star athletes, shopping for her one-year-old princess, or firing nannies, Larsa is happy to spend a little time on herself.

Cristy Rice

(Season 1)

"In my world, attitude is everything...I'm keeping it real." (Season 1)

Recently divorced from NBA star Glen Rice, Christy's sassy Latina flair is evident in everything she does. As a Miami native who is beyond proud of her roots, Christy has entered a new phase of her life, being single and living out loud. The show followed her single life as she juggled business (she owns a clothing store) and being a single mom. She has three kids with her ex-husband of 11 years.

Alexia Echevarria

(Season 1: Official Housewife)

(Season 2: Recurring Housewife)

"Beauty is power, if you know how to use it." (Season 1)

Alexia, a real “Cuban Barbie”[citation needed], has two kids from a previous marriage: 17 year-old Peter and 13 year-old Frankie. She's the executive editor of Venue magazine, where she covers fashion and celebrity culture. She loves to spend time at her Miami Beach home where she lives with her husband Herman, and admits she is at times more of an older sister than a disciplinarian to her two sons from a previous marriage.
