Colours of Spain's National Flag

HISTORICAL NOTE: The Yellow colour symbolises the Gold of Spain... I happened to revert Jarmann M1884 right after Tawkerbot2 reverted the double vandalism by 70.68.181.112, but immediately reverted it more after realizing that I reverted over a revert. Vandal Warrior

Hi. I'm not sure about the script, but unfortunately, the Page Preview method won't work for most people. That's because all .js and .css pages are automatically protected so that only the owner or an admin can edit it. So... you may want to wait for a response from Interiot about the problem. Vicicitatio

I'd love to help out, and indeed may well stick my head in a few times. However, due to the following:

• I have never worked on a Wikisource before, and don't know what one is! (although I'm sure I could find out);
• My Latin vocabulary is entirely based on the ancient stuff, rather than vocab used in the modern world. I'm not armed with a "new" Latin dictionary which has newly invented words to gel with language today;
• My activity on enwiki is currently very much reduced anyway, due to the fact that my laptop is still in repair. For this reason I've concentrated my efforts on enwiki and not gone much elsewhere (enwikt etc).

I apologise, but I am currently too incompetant to contribute! I hope it goes well, though. During the meantime, I will find out what a Wikisource is, just to put myself in a position where I am more able to help out from time to time!

A short Esperanzial update

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Solution to Vandal Warrior!

I've had a little look at your vandal warrior and found that you need some help. The problem is that the user is just staring at a block of text! Just ask the user to add the following code to their User:Example/nameofskin.js file (normally User:Foo/monobook.js.

If you need help with archiving your usertalk, for example, all you need to do is list it here and somebody will help you out. Likewise, if you need help with some area of editing on Wikipedia, list it here! Again, any matter, trivial or not, can be placed on this page. However, all matters listed on this page must not be of an argumentative nature. You do not need to be a member of Esperanza (or this program) to place or fulfill requests on this page. If you don't have any requests, consider coming by and fulfilling a few! This program has not been very active, but has lots of potential! What's New? If we are talking about practically the same pastries, then we can perhaps envisage a unique article for Bollos - Boyoz - Tortitas. Andrés Nocioni review

Hi Argentino and welcome to the reviewing of GA candidates. I and 2 other reviewers were curious as to the reason of your failing the Andrés Nocioni article and decided to reassess it. After a second review by myself I find that the article meets the criteria and unlike what you thought. The criterion 6 states that It contains images, where possible, to illustrate the topic. In this respect: which means that when the editors can add a picture they should but if there is no picture on the page, it can't be a reason for failing the article.

You didn't do anything bad, the criterion states that if the editor didn't find a picture to add to the article it is not a reason to fail the article. Or, at least, when I re-read the criterion that is what it meant and I think that is what other users feel about it too. The reason it acted as if there was nothing there is because it is at Wikimedia Commons at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Ar-map-es.png (still usable as if there was a wikipedia image). November Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!) Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach. Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins. What's New? The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one! Map of Borders of the Roman Empire

Hi Argentino, did you create the map on your (excellent) borders page? It does contain some errors, including showing Ireland as having actually been colonised for a while (it wasn't - just a Roman trading post - by this standard India should be included!) and the furthest-reached borders into Germany go much too far, or are at least very speculative. It is also now wrong on the Scottish border, recent confirmed archaeological work shows much greater Roman incursion into Northern Scotland than was previously stated. Rock music Wikiproject invitation

WikiProject Metal music is important in expanding encyclopedic coverage of the metal. It brings attention to the lesser-known bands, and significantly improves the quality of the famous ones. Five Featured articles and two formers is proof of that.
