James Andrew McCammon (born ??? 19??) is an American physical chemist widely regarded for his grounbreaking application of principles and methods from theoretical and computational chemistry to biological systems. A professor at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), McCammon's current research continues to focus on the theoretical aspects of biomolecular and cellular activity.

Life & work

Dr. McCammon is the co-author, with Stephen C. Harvey, of "Dynamics of Proteins and Nucleic Acids" (Cambridge University Press, 1987), the best-known early book on molecular mechanics and molecular dynamics.
