Ideology
Marxism–Leninism is the another ideology of CPI(M) although in the history of cpim there is also mentioned about the ideology of cpim and history tells us that 'Communism' and 'Marxism–Leninism' are the two ideology of Communist Party of India (Marxist). 1234comrade (talk) 15:36, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
I suggest to add Marxism–Leninism in ideology part 1234comrade (talk) 16:35, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
Marxism-Leninism is their ideology, for Wikipedia purposes at least. It is not Wikipedia’s job to do political commentary. Literally everyone apart from non-CPIM communists (CPIML(Liberation), naxalites) considers CPIM to be Marxist-Leninist. They consider themselves to be Marxist-Leninist, talk about Marxism-Leninism, we should call them Marxist-Leninists. It doesn’t matter if you disagree, Wikipedia is supposed to be neutral. - CPIM constitution also says that its ideology is Marxism-Leninism [1] : .... ARTICLE XI
- Duties of Party Members
- 1. The duties of the Party members are as follows:
- (a) To regularly participate in the activity of the Party organisation to which they belong and to faithfully carry out the policy, decisions and the directives of the Party.
- (b) To study Marxism-Leninism and endeavour to raise their level of understanding...... XYZ 250706 (talk) 13:57, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
- https://cpim.org/page/about-us says that The Party has sought to independently apply Marxism-Leninism to Indian conditions and to work out the strategy and tactics for a people's democratic revolution, which can transform the lives of the Indian people. The CPI(M) is engaged in bringing about this basic transformation by carrying out a programme to end imperialist, big bourgeois and landlord exploitation. XYZ 250706 (talk) 13:58, 5 May 2023 (UTC)

Political Position
Is left-wing accurate? Reading the article makes it seem like the Marxists split from the other communists, of whom they referred to as rightists, and were even called the "Left Communist Party" to differentiate from the original Communist Party. Given that communism is already a far-left political position, and that these communists are to the left of other communists, wouldn't it be more reasonable to label them as far-left? Also, a lot of the sources in citation 7 seem to be irrelevant to calling them merely left-wing. GigaDerp (talk) 16:32, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
- From what I can tell, this party is labeled left-wing because the Marxist-Leninists split off and are considered far-left. However, just because there is a part to the left of them, doesn't make them not also far-left. Especially since there is the Communist Party of India to the right of them that is both communist and considered left-wing. GigaDerp (talk) 14:00, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
Remove Socialism and Anti-capitalism
Remove Socialism and Anti-capitalism in CPI(M). Communism and Marxism-Leninism itself represents socialism and anti-capitalism. No need to mention it seperately. @XYZ 250706 @Soman Commie Eagle (talk) 15:22, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
