On July 8, 2024, during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Russia attacked several hospitals, including the main children’s hospital and another medical center in Kyiv[1] and a medical clinic in Dnipro.[2] A video of a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile falling on the children’s hospital was released. A second strike occurred two hours later.[3]

The attacked hospital, Okhmatdyt, is the largest pediatric clinic in Ukraine, which specializes in cancer treatments and organ transplants.[4][5]

At least 36 civilians were killed.[3]

Since the beginning of the invasion Russia has targeted and bombed more than 1,700 medical facilities in Ukraine.[4]

In Kyiv, 50 civilian buildings, including residential houses, in addition to the medical centers were hit.[3] The cities of Kryvyi Rih, Sloviansk and Kramatorsk were also attacked.[6]
