Dragon Ball manga cover?

You reverted my edit and said “always used first edition.” Should that be the first ENGLISH edition? After all, this is an English based Wikipedia article. Not everyone can read Japanese. I’d understand it if there was no English release, but there is. So why use the Japanese one when other articles in the same series don’t? History of Trunks for example shows the English VHS.NickWX28 (talk) 06:23, 12 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Use first edition book covers per Wikipedia:WikiProject Books and film posters from the film's country of origin per Template:Infobox film. The language is irrelevant. Xfansd (talk) 16:43, 12 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Editing Templates for Anime, Anime Films, OVA, and TV Anime Films

Hi, i was wondering of those templates and any others that are relevant could be edited to inlcude a section for chapters or volumes adapted from the source material? I say chapters or volumes because of cases in which light novels are the source material, its much more feasible to go by volume than chapterNickWX28 (talk) 03:10, 14 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

You would need to first establish a consensus in support of those changes on the talkpages of the templates, or probably better to do that at the more active Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Anime and manga. Also, just to be clear, I personally do not know how to actually add or remove parameters to templates. Xfansd (talk) 03:16, 14 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

DYK

I nominated an article that you started for Did you know on Wikipedia's main page - Template:Did you know nominations/Itsuki Hirata. SL93 (talk) 00:24, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

DYK for Itsuki Hirata

On 2 May 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Itsuki Hirata, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Japanese mixed martial artist Itsuki Hirata's nickname is "Android 18" due to being told she looks like the Dragon Ball character? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Itsuki Hirata. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Itsuki Hirata), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Remember to issue warnings after a revert.

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you.

Make sure you issue a warning to the vandal after you revert vandalism. Here's a link to the vandalism templates: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Template_index/User_talk_namespace

Saki's guitars

@Hatto Hey man, could you please tell me what the correct way to romanize 和柄ちゃん is? Is it "Kahei-chan"? I'm going to add an equipment section to Saki's article but want to make sure I get that nickname for her guitar right first. Xfansd (talk) 22:46, 2 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Xfansd: Hello! The word 和柄 is written as "wagara" in the alphabet, so there is probably no problem in writing "wagara-chan" for 和柄ちゃん (Japanese hiragana and katakana have only one reading, so ちゃん can only be pronounced as "chan".). In fact, the name "wagara-chan" is also used on the CDJapan website. I hope this English of mine has conveyed the message to you. --Hatto (talk) 00:14, 3 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, I definitely would not have gotten that. I better ask about the other guitar nicknames then. How would you write 蒼きらこ and 紅きらこ? I get that きら refers to the Killer guitar brand but I want to use the romanization "kira" and not translate anything into English. I told you before man, you have good English. You should be more confident in it. Xfansd (talk) 01:18, 3 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Unlike hiragana and katakana, Japanese kanji have multiple readings, so there are many cases where even a Japanese person like me does not know how to read a kanji (There are so many difficult-to-read kanji that even Japanese people have trouble reading!). Hiragana きらこ can only be pronounced 100% as "kirako", but "蒼" can be read as "Sō" or "Ao" or "Aoi," and "紅" can be read as "Beni" or "Kō" or "Kurenai". The meaning would be "blue" for 蒼 and "red" or "crimson" for 紅. Perhaps 蒼きらこ is pronounced "Ao kirako" and 紅きらこ is pronounced "Beni kirako". --Hatto (talk) 01:50, 3 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'll go with Ao Kirako and Beni Kirako. I knew that about kanji, but was hoping maybe since you are a fan of hers that you had heard her say the names before or knew based on the context. Thank you very much for the help. Xfansd (talk) 02:04, 3 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
You're welcome too! But I didn't know the name of Saki's guitar. Of course I had seen her guitar (because I have also seen Mary's Blood live performance in Tokyo several times.), but I didn't know its name, and I had never heard of "Wagara-chan" or "Ao Kirako" or "Beni Kirako" before. Incidentally, I found that the correct reading of 紅きらこ is still "Beni Kirako". I wasn't sure about 蒼きらこ but since Ao (and Beni too) are the Kanji for color, I figured it would be pronounced the same as "Ao Kirako" (青きらこ) using the more common 青 (Ao, it means "blue") than 蒼, and that's why I told you that I think Ao Kirako is correct. Thank you! --Hatto (talk) 13:06, 5 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

I'm making redirects now for pipe links since you seem bothered by the redlinks. I will be adding anchors for the individual parts in the main article. ★Trekker (talk) 15:38, 23 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Akane banashi recommendation

Its not just famous people saying they like it. They provide a comment recommending it. So it is pretty major. WillsEdtior777 (talk) 21:04, 4 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Oda said "I like it. Good luck Akane!". That's it. There is nothing of any substance to that. Think of how many famous people have a favorite sports team or rock band, if you go to the article on that team/band it does not say "Barack Obama is a fan of them." in the lead. The Oda and Anno info is in the article, but it doesn't belong in the lead. Xfansd (talk) 22:09, 4 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I see your point and I agree. But manga recommendations are supposed to be short to fit in the volume cover.
It doesn't fit in this article perhaps. WillsEdtior777 (talk) 00:41, 5 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

An editor has written false information and is in trouble.

When I asked Petwarrior for editing support, I was in trouble because I repeatedly wrote false information. I would prefer another editorial partner. [[Hinatazaka46#Notable subgroups|Saitama Trio/Color Chart is an informal name given to the radio program "Berg presents Hinatazaka46 no Yokei na Kotomade Yarimashō!" (ベルク presents 日向坂46の余計な事までやりましょう!). The notable subgroup section is inappropriate because it is informal. The limited-edition food products that Berg makes are also unofficial, so the names of the groups and members are not listed. I'm having trouble canceling an official subgroup I wrote. so could you block "User:Petewarrior? I noticed "Petewarrior" pretending not to know and undoing edits. He probably noticed the difference in the editing level and didn't follow the request because he got angry. (User talk:Petewarrior / Please.) You should rest until you calm down. I don't know how to request a block, so please. --10JIPN10 (talk) 14:39, 18 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

This seems to be a content dispute at the Hinatazaka46 article. I do not have the ability to block people, but this does not seem like a situation that requires the severe response of blocking anyone. It seems Petewarrior is having trouble understanding what you are trying to say because English is not your native language. All I can really do is direct you to try and talk about it on Talk:Hinatazaka46 with other editors of the article, not just Petewarrior. Then, if that does not work, see Wikipedia:Dispute resolution. I do not know anything about how idol groups and their subgroups operate, but you say it is "unofficial" and the Saitama Trio/Color Chart section does open with "was the unofficial name for[...]". Personally, I think it is ok to leave it as it stands currently. But again, I know nothing about the group. Xfansd (talk) 16:16, 18 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
This person repeatedly deleted articles I added, leaving only articles written by Petewarrior, so it should be considered intentional. If you don't understand Japanese, you should concentrate only on correcting your English. Petewarrior is mad at me for being corrected. That's why I chose a different cover. I know what the other person is thinking with the change of language and the context. Petewarrior is a special ability, so I think it's scary. I also put sentences to read the other person's mind in the talk. So I know the Petwarrior lie. Shouldn't lie to me. A liar is not trustworthy. I think I should speak to an admin who has permission to block. You are also subject to report because you are complicit in fraud as it is now. The English Wikipedia probably has a place to post blocks as well. There is no choice not to teach. If you feel like doing it, please request a Petewarrior block. --10JIPN10 (talk) 18:45, 18 September 2022 (UTC) postscript --10JIPN10 (talk) 18:53, 18 September 2022 (UTC) postscript --10JIPN10 (talk) 20:47, 18 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
I am very sorry for my rude writing. The reason for discarding the article is probably because Petewarrior put me on checklist. You can't be involved as a person if you change your mind with other people's words. Wikipedia is not for editors who want to edit as they please. The Japanese edition Wikipedia dialogue is even worse. The notable subgroup's color chart clearly states that it's unofficial, so I think it's just a personal preference. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a fan site. I hate being bullied and being bullied. I don't get along with Petewarrior because my way of thinking doesn't match. Speaking Japanese will improve your level. I withdrew my bad remarks because they were uncool. Sorry for the long time.--10JIPN10 (talk) 20:35, 19 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi, sorry that you got randomly dragged into this silly little drama. That user was a sockpuppet of an account that have been blocked for years for similar actions and has been blocked now. PetéWarrior (talk) 12:23, 20 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
