About me

I am a longtime Wikipedian. I have been an active editor since 2004, and an administrator since 2005. I've written dozens of articles and made thousands of edits. I have been an arbitrator, oversighter, and CheckUser, and have served as an administrator on the English Wiktionary, English Wikisource, and Meta-Wiki.

These days, I mostly work in the GLAM-related areas. I previously served as a Wikipedian in Residence at the US National Archives (from 2011-2012 and 2013-2019) and, briefly, the Smithsonian Institution (2013). I have been very active in working on bulk imports, to both Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata. I have also performed work on behalf of the Cleveland Museum of Art, developing their Wikidata bot. I have a strong interest in building capacity and community, and have been very involved in developing the GLAM Boot Camp. I follow (and exceed) all requirements related to conflict of interest for all these various positions I have held. Because the list has gotten long over more than a decade of work, I please see /Affiliations for more information on all my past and current paid work.

My work

I am a paid employee of the Digital Public Library of America (DPLA). I work to make DPLA's cultural artifacts more accessible to the public by sharing them on Wikimedia Commons and making them available to Wikipedia for use in articles. When I am editing Wikipedia as part of my professional duties, I always strive to strictly abide by Wikipedia's accepted practices on conflicts of interest, neutrality, and notability. I will always work in the best interest of Wikipedia, because that is in line with DPLA's educational mission. You can read more about this project at our announcement.

If you have any questions about my role, or if there is any way I or DPLA can help you in your work on Wikipedia, please get in touch!
