DKZ (formely known as DONGKIZ) is a South Korean boy band signed to Dongyo Entertainment. The group consists of five members: Kyoungyoon, Munik, Jaechan, and Jonghyeong. They promoted a pre-debut song entitled "Nom" from November 2018, which ultimately served as the lead single from the single album Dongkiz on the Block the following April. The group released a second single album BlockBuster and a mini-album Dongky Town within the year.

History
2018: Pre-debut
The members of DKZ —Wondae, Kyoungyoon, Munik, Jaechan, and Jonghyeong—were trainees between one and three years.[1][2] The group was modeled after New Kids on the Block.[2] Dongkiz initiated promotional activities in August 2018, which included uploading dance covers onto Dongyo Entertainment's YouTube channel and busking.[3][4] They also performed at the HEC Korea Concert in Thailand.[5] Dongkiz released a Minneapolis sound-based pre-debut single entitled "Nom" on November 21, 2018.[6] Soon thereafter, they performed at the Charity Concert for Palu, Sigi, and Donggala; its proceeds were donated to victims of the 2018 Sulawesi earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia.[7]
2019: Debut with single album "Dongkiz on the Block", 1st comeback with their single album "BlockBuster" and 1st comeback with Mini Album "Dongky Town"
Originally slated for a February 2019 debut, Dongkiz released their debut single album Dongkiz on the Block on April 24.[8][9] They intended to promote a different song, but ultimately decided on "Nom" to serve as the lead single.[10] On July 22, Dongkiz released their second single album BlockBuster. The title track samples the theme song of the 1984 film Ghostbusters.[11] Dedicated to their fans, Dongkiz released the dance-pop track "Dreaming You" as a digital single on September 11.[12]
After sustaining a leg injury in midst of practice, in addition to ongoing trauma from a back injury endured prior to his debut, Kyoungyoon paused his activities to recuperate and the group continued promoting as four.[13] Dongkiz released their first mini-album Dongky Town and accompanying disco-EDM single "Fever" on November 6.[14] They went on to win the Focus Award at the 2019 Asia Artist Awards.[15]
2020: Return with digital single "LUPIN", sub unit presentation: "DONGKIZ I:KAN" and comeback with their 3rd single Single "自我"
On January 2, 2020, Dongkiz followed up with the funk single "All I Need Is You", marking Kyoungyoon's return to the group.[16] The group released the old-school hip hop-dance single "Lupin" on March 15.[17] Jaechan and Munik formed the sub-unit Dongkiz I:Kan and they released the new jack swing single "Y.O.U" on July 7, 2020.[18] Dongkiz's third single album Ego was released on August 19, 2020.[19]
2021: Return with their 4th single "Youniverse" and the fifth single album "Chase Episode 1. Ggum"
In April the group officially announced their return with the fourth single: "Youniverse" and published the teaser schedule that would be followed for this comeback. As of April 5, the promotional image of each member was released, one per day. On April 10 and 11, the group images were released. A teaser video was released on April 12. fourth single album Youniverse was released on April 15, 2021.[20]
Dongkiz's fifth single album Chase Episode 1. Ggum was released on July 1, 2021.[21]
2022: Rising into the spotlight, group changes: new name, Wondae's departure from the group, and new members
DONGKIZ has announced a series of changes to the group, from a new name "DKZ", Wondae's departure from the group due to her injury , and entry of 3 new members. In a post shared on DONGKIZ’s fancafe, Dongyo Entertainment shared the many changes that will be made to the group.
In April 2022, Dongkiz will return with a new album.
