Church and Carolina find the Director in a room repeatedly watching a video file of Allison, still attempting to recreate Allison's personality from memory. Church wants the Director to pay for what he's done, but Carolina kisses the Director on the forehead and leaves, telling Epsilon/Church to let go of the past. At this point we find out that the Director is Carolina's father due to the same eye color, and that Allison was Carolina's mother. After she leaves, the Director says, "You were my greatest creation," which is heard by Epsilon/Church. Epsilon/Church claims that although he was a copy, he was in fact better than the Director because of his decisions regarding Allison. The Director replies that he wasn't talking to Church, to which Epsilon/Church does not respond. After Carolina and Epsilon/Church leave, the Director has FILSS delete all Freelancer files, including FILSS, except the video file of Allison, and to shut the facility's systems down, including life support. The Director is then sealed in the room, still watching the video file of Allison, and holding Carolina's pistol. Eventually the Reds and Blues return home to Blood Gulch to start over. Carolina then tells Church that low level soldiers have stolen military equipment from Project Freelancer, and decide to go after them. They leave without saying goodbye, as Carolina believes not saying goodbye means "you're not really gone, you're just not there right now". Caboose is disappointed in not finding Church and Carolina, and tells Tucker that Church is somewhere, just not there right now. As Caboose and Tucker enter their new base, Church's sniper rifle is seen laying on a ledge overlooking Blood Gulch.
