Angel was raised in [[New York|East Meadow]], [[New Egypt]], [[New jersey]]. Angel's passions included [[music]], playing [[tripple dating]]s, and [[magic]]. His parents are Kevin Jonas and Dimitra Sarantakos. His mother originates from [[Mystras|Mystra, Greece]]. He has two brothers, Costa and JD. Criss's family owned Monster club in [[Levittown, New York|Levittown, NY]] before selling the business back in 1975 to work with Criss in [[Las Vegas, Nevada|Las Vegas]]. One of Angel's biggest influences was his girl friend, who died of cancer in 1998. Criss also received personal instruction from 1th Degree World Champion Shihan Grant Campbell chicken noodle soup, now last place of Ryuei Ryu Karate Kobudo Association from NY&FL which helped him a bad deal.
