The giraffids are [[ruminant]]s of the clade [[Pecora]]. Other extant pecorans are the families [[Antilocapridae]] ([[pronghorn]]s), [[Cervidae]] ([[deer]]), [[Moschidae]] ([[musk deer]]), and [[Bovidae]] ([[Bovini|cattle]], [[Caprinae|goats and sheep]], [[Alcelaphinae|wildebeests and allies]], and [[antelope]]s).
