::::::::The existing tables requires the exact same comparison. None of the reasons you are providing are valid enough to keep the tables. - Evelyn Harthbrooke (leave a message · contributions) 06:44, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
::::::::Not to mention the existing tables cause a shit ton of rightward drift, causing the user to shift their eyes a lot to process the information, whereas an "Initial devices" column next to "Device end of life" would require very little rightward drift, and would be more quickly consumable. It's not like Apple releases a billion iPhones or iPads a year, and the iPod touch has been dead since 2022. - Evelyn Harthbrooke (leave a message · contributions) 06:47, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
::::::::One more thing, the iPad template is especially cumbersome, due to all the rightward drift + downward drift for very little information. They are incredibly overly technical templates due to their overall complexity and the signfiicant drift necessary to adequately read the tables, and I still genuinely believe that having templates that are that complex are out of scope of what Wikipedia covers. - Evelyn Harthbrooke (leave a message · contributions) 06:48, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
:I dunno which devices this project supports in regards to accessibility besides what :mw:Compatibility and :mw:Accessibility say. Shall we ask at WP:VPT then? George Ho (talk) 17:34, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
:I have just come to another potential solution: Adding a dedicated "Initial devices" column to the Overview table at the very top of the article; showing which iOS version premiered with each device. This would potentially render the need for dedicated Hardware support tables unnecessary, would be more prominent in the article as the Overview table is at the very top of the article after the lead instead of being at the very bottom of it like the current hardware support templates are, and would reduce the amount of templates that have to be maintained. It would also be easier to understand as it would be text, instead of X's and checkmark's. I just feel that this would be better and it would make the overall flow of the article better and the content would be more focused. It would also allow less scrolling to get to the other sections of the article, such as References. - Evelyn Harthbrooke (leave a message · contributions) 03:48, 22 September 2024 (UTC)
