Witter trained at the Bradford Police Boys amateur boxing club, under Mr Allan (Pop Allan). As an amateur boxer, Junior, represented England and captained the England school's team. Post Boxing, he has since opened his own Boxing gym, in [[Rotherham]], [[South Yorkshire]].
