Wran’s links to [[Abe Saffron]] and senior corrupt police associates were further exposed in an [[1979 Sydney Ghost Train Fire#Exposed: The Ghost Train Fire|ABC investigative series]] on the [[1979 Sydney Ghost Train Fire|Luna Park fire]] which killed 6 young children and a father. The purposeseries ofalleged that the arsonfire was todeliberate arson, which deliverdelivered control of the Luna Park foreshore property into the hands of Saffron and his associates via a taintedcorrupt tender process, (aided by Wran).
