:What he thinks of himself isn't important. Reliable sources have called him a rapper. He was shortlisted for XXL's Freshman lineup because he also makes hip hop music. Deleting things because you do not like a reference does not make you a useful "editor."
It's simple:
If YouTube can be referenced as reliable for positive reviews, it can also be used for negative reviews.
If it cannot be referenced for negative reviews, it cannot be referenced for positive reviews.
But critically, it's not asserting that the game is dead, but is shown as reference to players having concerns. A quick google search of "Scrap Mechanic abandoned" or "Scrap Mechanic dead" brings up hundreds of similar posts on a variety of media.
But taken straight from Steam's review section: https://steamcommunity.com/app/387990/negativereviews/?browsefilter=toprated&snr=1_5_100010_
To quote some: "I love having an early access game that hasn't had an actual update in 4 years."
"I love Scrap Mechanic with all my heart but the lack of updates is disappointing. I will update my review if and when the long awaited update finally drops. 😟"
"8 years of early access and the updates have slowed to being near nothing. Are they even going to finish this in my lifetime? This is unacceptable, plain and simple."
"The devs completley stopped working on the game but realease a mock "patch" every now and then with easy to add decorative items that should've been added when the game engine itself is in a decent shape. They probably do this to let on the impression that this is a game in development so more people will throw their cash down the drain when in truth this game will never be anything else than a wonky little testchamber-demo." - This one is from '''2017.'''
"Game is great, but developers are not adding enough new content to the game. Me and my friend were playing this game since it first came out and we were waiting for the survival mode for like 2 years its still not in the game." -2018
"I played over 225 hours of this game in the year 2020 and I absolutely loved the idea and systems in place at that time. Since then, you'd be surprised to know that there has been no updates to this game or its modes, in four years. Pair this with a lack of developer communication or even information from their public relations team (at this point, they clearly do not have one) which as we are pseudo-investors, pisses me off."
I could continue, but there's tens of thousands of negative reviews, all stating the same observation - There have been no meaningful updates in years, and the developers have largely stopped communicating. Which meets all the definition of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Development_hell
I provided more links in the talk section of the page, including actual patch notes FROM THE DEVELOPER, which should be as reliable a source as you could need.
