He attended [[Amherst College]] and the [[Yale School of Drama]]. He has served as artistic director at the [[Charles Playhouse]] in [[Boston]] and the [[Berkshire Theatre Festival]] in [[Stockbridge, Massachusetts]]. In 1972 he started Allan Albert Productions.
